At St Therese's, we are proud to offer our Young Explorers programme for children from birth to 5 years of age. Young Explorers is part of the Setup for Success initiative, a free early years programme promoting learning for life for both young children and their families.

Young Explorers is run in our dedicated Kindergarten space (accessible from Amy Street, Moonah) each Friday during School Term time from 9:00am - 10:30am.

Young Explorers is open to all families within the community who have a child aged between birth and five years.

Our qualified Setup for Success co-ordinator, Miss Jacklyn Draper, develops tailored programmes to meet the needs of children and their families within our local community inspired by Christian values.

Parents attend Young Explorers alongside their children in a welcoming and inspiring environment designed to promote development across all learning areas.

Each week, our Young Explorers programme co-ordinator works with families to:

  • support parental understanding of child development;
  • respond to learners’ interests, strengths and needs;
  • communicate the learning that is on offer, and why this learning is important to their child; and
  • provide resources to assist families to continue to support their children’s learning in their home settings.

Our caring and supportive environment at St Therese's, promotes optimal early childhood development that greatly increases children’s chances of a successful transition to school. This, in turn, promotes children’s chances of achieving better learning outcomes while at school, and better education, employment and health after they have finished school.
